...just think of what you DO have and than be thankful that you were blessed with that!
Over the past three years I have figured this out. I thought money and material items were all that I needed to be happy, but now I realize that there is so much more to strive for in life.
I feel like I am looking mainly to be content with my life no matter how it pans out. I smile every day because I know that, no matter what were to happen to me on any given day, I am loved and always have a escape route when I need it. I have my family and friends who will be there for me in the good times and the bad times.
Spring cleaning is going to be coming up soon and I want to emphasize what B. Scott touched on in his latest video: Spring cleaning should also be a time to get rid of all the excess people you don't need in your life. All those people who may be holding you back need to go!
I was recently in a pageant called "The King & Queen of Bloody Hearts Pageant" put on by the IRLM of San Jose where I had a slight predicament: I forgot half of my outfit for the talent portion of the pageant. I was freaking out because I had no shirt to wear (on top of leaving a majority of my other costume pieces). Thankfully, my drag mother was there and was able to lend me a top to substitute for the one I left at home. I couldn't stop saying out loud "I forgot [this] and I forgot [that]," when finally Alina Maletti calmed me by saying, "Girl! You keep talking about what you didn't bring, so how about you tell me what you did bring!" It helped me realize that in difficult situations, it is best to look at the things that can make you smile and get you though the rough patch.
Keep your head up darling, and only good things will come your way.
